Warm Up America! accepts 7"x 9" knit/crochet sections, finished afghans and accessories year-round. However, we often have specific needs that require help from our incredible volunteers. Visit this page for updated information on the best way you can help us spread warmth around the country.

Build-A-Bed

Warm Up America! needs 200 adult-size afghans (63" x 49") for Morehead State University's Build-A-Bed campaign. This organization builds beds for children in need in Eastern Kentucky. Warm Up America! provides the blankets for this event and we need your help to fulfill this need. Please send the finished afghans to the WUA! home office before March 31, 2019. Thank you for your support and spread the word!

California Wildfires

With devastating fires raging in California’s Butte and LA counties, the loss of lives and property is unimaginable. WUA!’s office is contacting donation centers in those areas to provide blankets to families who have lost everything to the wildfires. Please consider helping WUA! by donating child and adult size blankets as part of our Neighbors Helping Neighbors campaign.

Hurricane Florence

Warm Up America! would like to support those who have been impacted by Hurricane Florence. Working with local police departments, we plan to provide blankets to families as they finish cleaning up and begin the rebuilding process. Tiny Hats for Tiny Babies™

Warm Up America! is again supporting the East African Preterm Birth Initiative at the University of California San Francisco. Last year WUA! volunteers helped the organization create an amazing 17,000+ hats for newborns. The hats were so well received by new mothers and health workers in Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya, the University team is hoping to match last year’s hat total and expand the program to additional low- and middle-income countries. The deadline for sending hats for the Tiny Hats for Tiny Babies campaign is December 31, 2018. For more details about the initiative, and hat patterns, check out this special page at the website.
